Scott Roehl
UPDATE: Roehl gives up two hits and one earned run during 2/3 inning work during the 8th dig of the 'Double A' Eastern League All-Star Game in Manchester, New Hampshire on Wednesday night.
An Eastern League All-Star Game record crowd of 8,762 fans watched as the home team Northern Division defeated Roehl's visiting Southern Division by a score 5-3. Scott's mother and father were both in attendance.
-Champions International past player Scott Roehl has been added to the roster of the Southern Division for the Eastern League (AA) All-Star Game to be played in Manchester, New Hampshire on Wednesday night.
Roehl is currently the closer for the Akron Aeros. The Aeros are located in Ohio and are a minor league affiliate of the MLB Cleveland Indians.
As the Aeros closer, Roehl has thrown 39 innings while giving up 28 hits and 12 earned runs. In that time he has walked 16 batters while striking out a 42. His earned run average is 2.77 runs per nine innings.
Roehl was drafted in the 10th round of the 2003 MLB Amatuer Draft by the Indians. He had previously been drafted out of Shoreland Lutheran High School in the 16th round by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2000. Instead Roehl chose to play division one college baseball at the University of Arkansas before eventually being drafted by the Indians.
A native of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Roehl is 26 years old. He is 6'1" tall and weighs 195 lbs. He throws righthanded and is regularly clocked throwing in the low 90's.
On behalf of Champions International in China, Scott was a standout for the 1996 Wisconsin Snapper U16 team that finished 2nd in the Beijing International Friendship Tournament. Scott both pitched and played third base for that ballclub. The team was coached by David Roehl, Doug Gonring, and Scott Novotny.
