Narelle Gosstray – Head Coach
Narelle is one of four Level 2 female coaches in all of Australia. Currently she coaches Baulkham Hills whom she led to the New South Wales Women’s League championship in 2007. Narelle has been an Australian selection of four occassions (2001, 2002, 2003, 2005). She has won national championships on multiple occasions for both Victoria and New South Wales. Recently, Narelle has been named to the technical committee at the IBAF World Cup at Japan in August. She has also been named Australian representative to the Women's World Baseball Federation. Narelle has coached with the Hearts since 2005.
Kelly Manzie-Novotny – Assistant Coach
Kelly is a Level 1 coach. She has been an Australian selection five times (2001, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008). Kelly has won six national championships for Victoria and one for Chicago in the USA (2003). Kelly is the first Australian female baseball player recruited to play oversees (2002) and is the only woman to win national championships in two countries. Kelly also was the only Australian to play in the 24 Hour historic women’s game in 2003. Kelly has coached with the Hearts since 2005.
Simone Wearne – Pitching Coach
Simone is a Level 1 coach. She is the president of the Springvale Baseball Club. She has been an Australian selection eight times (2001-2008) and has won a national championship for Victoria on seven occasions. Simone was named as only one of two pitchers on the All-World team selected at the 2006 Women World Cup on Taiwan. In early 2008, she was named Open Women's Player of the Year by the Australian Baseball Federation. She has coached with the Hearts since 2005.
Jeneane Lesko – Coach
Jeneane is a former All-American Girl ("League of Their Own") who currently hails from Seattle, Washington. As well as a former golfer on the LPGA tour, Jeneane is also is a former schoolteacher. Jeneane has organized the Washington Stars women’s baseball team and continue to travel around the USA promoting women’s baseball, including as a coach in the 24-Hour Game. In early 2007 her travels brought her to Australia for the first time where she represented the Hearts at youth clinics and in the media in Melbourne, Sydney, and Canberra. Jeneane has coached with the Hearts since 2005.
Rob Novotny – Organizer
Rob is the former operations manager for the Chicago White Sox Training Centers and a former scout for the Texas Rangers. He has also taught hitters in the Milwaukee Brewers organization. He helped coach the world champion Australian women’s team in 2002 and the American women’s team in 2003. Also that year, he served a term as Vice President of the American Women’s Baseball Federation. In that role, Rob organized the historic women’s 24-Hour Game at Tucson Electric Park (Arizona) in 2003. Since 1995, Rob has organized 20 teams to play baseball and softball overseas. He has organized the Hearts since 2005.
